I was trying to figure out how to set up a Windows R2 DNS server and was wondering what the default TTL was for it. Does anyone have an experience with this, or have anywhere to start?

It depends. The default TTL for manually created records is one hour. Records which are created dynamically by Dynamic DNS have a 20-minute default.
