I want a new server for my game and I saw a list of networks but I don't know which is best. What client/server network topology is most commonly used?

I am unable to see the full question you posed (which of the following...) if you are referring to network typologies, in modern TCP/IP network a hub system is common. In practice you don't see star or ring (some exceptions). This refers to the network architecture of how cables are connected. Client/server is how the hosts are configured to communicate/interact (overly simplified). Client/server itself is common network host communication design. A main server is host that clients access resources from (storage space/processing power.a printer/etc). An alternate to client/server is peer-to-peer where each node in the network share resource and one computer isn't master. It has advantages as if one node fails the computer network should keep working. There are also combination type networks. See link for more details.
