I want to host my own server but I don't know where to start. Can you tell me how to do this with MySQL?

First, be sure you are at a command prompt. Then enter "shell> "C:Program FilesMySQLMySQL Server 5.0inmysqld". The path may vary depending on the install location of your MySQL. Good luck, this should work fine for you.
