Tags: External Hard Drives,
I bought a used external hard drive and need it for a special project. But whenever I try to save data to it, it tells me the memory is full. How do I wipe everything off the external hard drive?
This is a debug account.
To initialize external disk in Windows and Mac or other operating system are different. Formatting hard drive can not only empty the data in the hard drive, but also change the file system, such as NTFS, exFAT and EXT2/3/4. If you have important data in the disk, please make a backup to save the data. Because disk initialization will erase all data from disk which may not be able to recover. The guidance here introduces how to format external disk in PC with different operating system. Hope it can help you find a solution.
