I just bought a new Oculus and I am trying to determine how to calibrate the item. I tried to press some buttons on it but those don't seem to bring up calibration. I need some more support to find out how to do this.

You will be easily calibrating once you set up Rift. Let's see how you can doing it manually, or re-calibrate. Launch the Oculus home on your PC. In the drop-down menu, you'll find Settings. Open that. Go to Devices and choose Configure Rift. This is another drop-down menu. Here, you can choose to "Rerun Setup". Here, you can easily calibrate your Oculus for your comfort.
