The Google news notifications appear constantly in my web browser, so much so that they interfere with my normal usage of the browser. I would still like to check Google news, but I don't want to see the notifications any more. Is there an efficient way to turn off the notifications without interfering with Google?

The web version of Google News throws no notifications, so I'm not sure what you're struggling with. Yes, the smartphones apps do show notifications and sometimes they are out of the hand. Like the morning you wake up, you check your phone to see a bombardment of Google News notifications. That can be controlled from the Google News app itself.

Open Google News and tap your photo. Here, go to Settings and in the General section, you'll find the Notifications button. You can turn off notifications for all segments like Breaking news, Headlines, Daily briefing, Featured content, Sharing, Your interests, Promotions and offers, and New magazines. If you want only specific notifications, then you can subscribe to particular magazines or news sources and you'll only be notified of content that comes on those sources next.
