So I just recently got a new PC with Windows 10 on it, and I keep running into this error: "Windows resource protection could not start the repair service". Has anyone else seen this? How do you fix it?

  • Click Windows key + R key to open run box and type services.msc, then click on OK.
  • The service window will appear from there double-click on Windows Modules Installer.
  • Go to the first tab; General and choose Startup type as Manual.
  • Apply it and click on OK.
  • Close the service window and click on the start button to search cmd.
  • Right-click on Command Prompt to Run as administrator.
  • Type the following code: sc config trustedinstaller start= demand and press enter button
  • then type net start trustedinstaller
  • Now try to run sfc.exe on your Windows. The error should be fixed.
