I'm using Dreamhost and I'm getting an MySQL error that's preventing me from doing what I want. "MySQL 504 Gateway Time-out; The server didn't respond in time?" How do I fix this?

I found some information here. Still unsure what to do.

504 Gatetimeout is an HTTP Error, not a database error. The database takes too long to collect your data. You probably have to increase max_execution_time in your php.ini

Or Check the proxy server settings in your browser or application and make sure they're correct. Incorrect proxy settings can cause 504 errors.
