I am having some SQL connection problems. To be specific, a connection will not be allowed. Who can help me sort out this problem? "Sqlstate[hy000] [2002] connection refused" is the error I receive.

These errors are kind of generic and don't point to anything specific.

In general you want to start off:

  • Make sure you're using the correct port number
  • Make sure you're using the correct host (localhost/ depending on your server set up)
  • If you're using a remove database make sure you have your IP's whitelisted.

If you're having further errors please post your code, we can take a further look.
