This error can be caused due to reasons like - corrupted audio drivers, sound configurations and corrupted Windows files. Try the suggested methods to fix this issue.

METHOD 1: Restart Windows Audio Service

  1. Open Run dialog box (Start button + R Key), type services.msc
  2. It will open Services Window, and from there locate Windows Audio from the “Name” list and right-click on it and press Restart.

METHOD 2: Time to Repair Corrupted Windows Files

  1. Press the Start button and search cmd, open command prompt by right-clicking on it and choose administrator option.
  2. In Command Prompt, type sfc / scannow and press Enter.
  3. The process will take several minutes until the verification 100% complete.

There are many more methods to try out if the above didn't work.
