The application I'm trying to open won't start; instead I'm getting an error that says its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. I'm running Windows but I'm not sure it's up to date. Can someone help me fix this problem?

Reinstall the problem program

It will be helpful if the program may get corrupted. For this:

  1. Open Run Box (Windows key + R button)
  2. Type “control” and press Enter to open Control Panel.
  3. Select Large icons in the View by drop-down menu.
  4.  Click Programs and Features, right-click the problem program and select Uninstall.
  5. Download the latest version of your program from its official website and install it on your computer.
  6. Launch your program and see if this fixes the error.
