The tools that you'll use depend on your setup.

    If you want to do this in pure PHP (or some other arbitrary server-side templating language), the basic process would be something like:

    1. Choose some URLs. E.g., if you want to have dynamic landing pages for different cities:
      1. https://www.example.com/product.php?city=Boston
      2. https://www.example.com/product.php?city=Detroit
    2. Extract GET parameters from the URL and fill them into the page. If applicable, you might also have some kind of lookup chart within the PHP code to get more details to fill in. Example code below.
    <?php
    // PHP IF shorthand syntax
    $city = (isset($_GET["city"])) ? $_GET["city"] : "ERR";

    // Example with a lookup chart to get more data based on a URL parameter
    if       ( strtolower($city) == "boston"  )   $state = "Massachusetts";
    else if  ( strtolower($city) == "detroit" )   $state = "Michigan";
    else                                          $state = "ERR";
    ?>

    <!-- htmlspecialchars() is used here to prevent arbitrary HTML from being injected -->
    <h1>Best Dentist in <?= htmlspecialchars($city); ?></h1>
    <p>If you live in <?= htmlspecialchars($city); ?>, you might want to find a dentist. You are on the right page. This city has some of the finest dentists in all of <?= htmlspecialchars($state); ?></p>

    If you're using WordPress (which is built on PHP), the process would basically be the same. You'd have to find the part of the source code that you want to have modified based on URL parameters, and then edit that template file. There's probably a plugin somewhere that will help with this or do this for you; after searching for a minute or two, there was no specific plugin that stood out, but if you looked around there may be a solution that works out of the box.
