After reading the how to create robots thread, I too began researching Raspberry Pi's so I can create my own home defense weapons.

I was thinking about this:

But I have a HK416 I can put on it...

Anyway, after finding out the newest Raspberry Pi has a whole bunch of rams (upto 4gb) I thought it really is getting to the point where these little toys can be used for mother fucking working computers...

Well it looks like someone thought of this before me and created this bad ass Raspberry Pi Laptop kit

How weird is this:

I also think at 4gb, these could be set up as SEO tool servers and run a lot of stuff that we use Windows VPS for but at less of a cost and way more Ram... Perhaps expect something on this in the future.

But these things look cool and exciting, for home defense weapon systems and SEO.

Yeah, that seems like a good setup as an alternative to a VPS. Basically all the web crawling type shit discussed elsewhere on 256KB could have be done by SSHing into a Raspberry Pi. An SCP command could be used fairly easily to sync any completed output reports to your local machine.

Windows VPS

The one thing you might look out for is software compatibility if you're using tools that are designed explicitly for Windows. It's possible to install Windows on a Raspberry Pi, although it sounds like an obnoxious process. Although I also haven't used Windows in like six years.

Also, since the Raspberry Pi 4 just came out, it looks like there isn't an official Amazon listing (the one that is on Amazon seems to have the price jacked up substantially above what the manufacturer's price is; this one is closer to the regular price, although is also bundled with some other shit).

Amazon does still have earlier models, though, which is what the various robot posts used.
