I've never really tracked how fussy Google can be with keywords. Take a look at this:

I always assumed that Google would handle "rollerskates" and "rollerskate" the same and never even thought about tracking plurals... I don't even know why I'm tracking both.

But this quirk is interesting. Is Google actually retarded enough to think "********" and "*******'s" are different things?

Does the user intent change? Does this silly little bot get confused and think these things are different?

What is the fucking logic on this retardation.

Mentions of each keyword in the article:

  • Plural: 36
  • Single: 24

The plural version is mentioned more in the headers, title, schema and meta data...

Could it be an overoptimisation "penalty" or something equally retarded in the algo...

Interesting. I don't think this was always the case. Could it be the last update, you think?
